# bazable serve

> Start a mock API server

Starts a mock API server based on your contract. Smart data generation with realistic values.

## Usage

```bash theme={null}
bazable serve [options]
```

## Options

<ParamField query="-p, --port" default={4000} type="number">
  Port to listen on.
</ParamField>

<ParamField query="-d, --delay" type="number">
  Simulated network delay in milliseconds.
</ParamField>

<ParamField query="--verify" type="boolean">
  After the server starts, automatically run Newman against it to verify the mock matches the contract.
</ParamField>

## Examples

<CodeGroup>
  ```bash Basic theme={null}
  bazable serve -p 5000 -d 300
  ```

  ```bash Verify with Newman theme={null}
  bazable serve --verify
  ```
</CodeGroup>

## Verification mode

With `--verify`, the server starts on `--port` (default `4000`) and Bazable immediately runs Newman against every defined endpoint. Useful in CI or local dev to catch mismatches between the mock and the contract.

<Tip>
  Point your frontend at `http://localhost:4000` to develop offline against the contract. See [Postman Integration](/guides/postman) for the full Postman/Newman workflow.
